Biography of Lenore Ealy

Lenore Ealy


Lenore T. Ealy is President of Thinkitecture,
Inc., a consultancy engaged in understanding and promoting the
transformative work of philanthropy and the voluntary sector. Since
2001 she has been Director of The Project for New Philanthropy Studies
at DonorsTrust and is currently an affiliated senior scholar with the
Mercatus Center at George Mason University. She is the founding editor
of Conversations on Philanthropy, an occasional journal that explores
the role of philanthropy in a free society and was co-editor, with
Robert C. Enlow, of Liberty and Learning: Milton Friedman’s Voucher
Idea at Fifty (Cato, 2006). Ealy earned an M.A. in history from the
University of Alabama, where she studied with Forrest McDonald, and
took her Ph.D. in the history of moral and political thought from the
Johns Hopkins University. She has held professional positions at the
Milton & Rose D. Friedman Foundation, the Intercollegiate Studies
Institute, and the Heritage Foundation and is a trustee of The
Philadelphia Society.
