President’s Welcome

I am honored to have the opportunity to serve this year as the President of the Philadelphia Society. The Society is well positioned, after 50 years of successful operation, to continue its leadership role in deepening the intellectual foundations of a free and ordered society. The enemies of liberty and the rule of law have not gone away; indeed, they are more active than ever.

The Philadelphia Society exists to renew the essential principles of individual liberty, private property, free markets, traditional values and the rule of law, all of which are under attack. Our meetings for the coming year will include conferences on the welfare state and on the roots of modern conservatism.

I hope that all of our members will join us in actively defending and supporting the basic principles that have made the United States free and prosperous. The officers and trustees welcome comments and suggestions from our members at any time.
