<\/a>The Philadelphia Society was established in 1964 as a gathering place for intellectual pilgrims on the road to liberty. \u00a0It was a thrill for me to serve as the Society’s first Treasurer and take in hand the $100 check Bill Buckley wrote to open our bank account. \u00a0It has been even more of a thrill to preside over the planning of the Society’s Fiftieth Anniversary celebration this spring. \u00a0For half a century our Society has provided an energizing opportunity for all of us who have hope for the future of our free society. \u00a0May our camaraderie long continue!<\/div>\n
